CELEBRATING 15 YEARS!

This week, HR Aligned Design celebrated its 15th anniversary.  The past 15 years have been filled with great opportunities and experiences as well as some challenges. One thing is certain, there have been many lessons learned. I’d like to share some of my learnings along the way:

1. Clarity of Purpose is Key: Knowing your “why” serves as a compass for decision-making, strategy, and client relationships. It’s the foundation of your business and the driver of long-term success. Mine has been to partner with and guide leaders in unlocking the full potential of individuals and teams resulting in a thriving organization.

2. Relationships Drive Success: Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients, collaborators, and colleagues isn’t just good business—it has been deeply fulfilling. People work with those they trust and respect.

3. Have the Courage to Take Risks: Stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking calculated risks is essential for growth. There were many times; to move forward, I had to step way out of my comfort zone and try something new. Sometimes I failed but more often than not, I succeeded. I found that courage fueled new ideas, opened the door to new opportunities and made taking risk a little easier the next time around.

4. Resilience is Non-Negotiable: Challenges are inevitable and sometimes taking those risks didn’t work out. Each obstacle can be a chance to adapt and emerge stronger. Resilience is not just about enduring challenges but embracing them as catalysts for growth and learning.

5. Stay Curious: Ask good questions! Show your interest in others. Staying curious opens the door to new ideas, perspectives, and opportunities.

6. Listening is Your Superpower: Active listening creates a space for understanding, innovation, and collaboration. People feel valued. It’s one of the most powerful tools in entrepreneurship, leadership and coaching.

7. Be Generous With Your Time and Expertise: Give back to your community, support your colleagues and deliver +++ to your clients. It will come back to you ten-fold.

8. Invest in Your Growth; Continuous learning is essential for staying ahead in any field. Investing in my own development has helped me deliver greater value to my clients.

9. The Power of Reflection: Taking time to reflect on new learnings, projects, challenging issues and successes enables growth. Walking Calli has been a great opportunity for this. And, many times, just letting things “percolate” for a bit has helped to find the best path forward.

10. Balance is an Ongoing Journey: Maintaining work-life balance can be just as difficult as an entrepreneur and maybe more important as it is just you making it all happen. Making work-life balance a priority is essential for sustaining my energy, creativity and mental well-being.

11. Celebrate the Wins: Recognizing and celebrating milestones, big or small, fosters motivation and gratitude. It’s a practice that keeps you energized for the road ahead.

12. Gratitude Amplifies Impact: Expressing gratitude for clients, collaborators, and experiences strengthened my relationships, cultivated positivity and energized me to focus forward.

As I continue to reflect on the past 15 years, I’m filled with gratitude for the lessons learned and especially the many people who have been part of this journey — people who believed in me, encouraged me, challenged me and created so many opportunities. I’m looking forward to what the future holds!
